Our first AGM!

The Moreland Bicycle User Group will hold its first Annual General Meeting on Thursday 22nd November in the back room of Caffe Mingo, 600 Sydney Rd, Brunswick from 7:30pm.

Following the AGM we will stick around for a few drinks/hot chocolates, as this will be our last meeting of the year, there is a distinct possibility that this part of the evening will take place in a nearby pub!


The business of the AGM will be:

1. Election of a Committee of Management

The following positions need to be filled:

  • Convenor
  • Deputy Convenor
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • 3 x ordinary members and we really need people to put their hands up for these positions!!

2. Membership fees

At the October BUG meeting, it was proposed that the Moreland BUG charge an annual membership fee of $20 for a waged individual or family, or $10 for an unwaged individual or family. It was proposed that membership fees would fall due on the 1st February; new members who join up within 6 months of the due date will be required to pay half fees only and will renew their membership at the full rate when membership falls due. An email forum would still be available for those who do not wish to sign up as members of Moreland BUG but would like to receive email from the group.

4. Amended Moreland BUG constitution

We need to make two very small changes to the constitution, which is attached. The changes are:

  • Fixing the order of lettering in Section 4.3
  • Fixing an incorrect reference to the Incorporation Act and clarifying the purpose of the statement in Section 8.4(d)

5. Any other business of which notice has been provided

If you would like other business to be considered, please send notice in writing (and email is fine!), to the Secretary at least 10 days before the AGM.
