Super Tuesday 2008

News from Bicycle Victoria; if you register and nominate Moreland BUG, the BUG will receive $50 per volunteer…

It’s on again! Super Tuesday 2008 will be on Tuesday March 4.

Bicycle Victoria is looking for bike counters to take part in Super Tuesday 2008.
Count volunteers can nominate a recognised community bike riding organisation to receive $50 as a reward for their efforts.

After the success of the inaugural ‘Super Tuesday’ where over 100 BUG and Club members spread across the Cities of Melbourne, Yarra, Port Phillip and Stonnington area captured where riders were going in the AM peak, Bicycle Victoria will be once again coordinating Australia’s largest ever bike count in 2008.

We are still finalising the list of Councils and sites but expect to more than double the size of Super Tuesday for 2008.
We need your registrations by Thursday 6 February.

The figures collated as a result of Super Tuesday helped the Councils and other government agencies involved better understand rider movements and prioritise routes for improvement.
Is your Council involved in 2008?

If you’d like to be a part of Super Tuesday 2008 then please complete this short Registration form.

Please forward this email onto any prospective counters and encourage them to raise money for your cycling organisation!

January meeting: Thursday 24 Jan

Well it hardly seems possible, but it’s almost the end of January – and that means it’s meeting week! Yikes!!! Hope to see you at Caffe Mingo, 600 Sydney Rd Brunswick from 7:30pm on Thursday, 24th January.

We’ll be dedicating most of the meeting to planning for the Sydney Rd Street Party, which will be held in Feb and is Moreland BUG’s biggest day in terms of the number of people we talk to and add to our email list.

We’ll need to organise all sorts of things, including fundraising activities and beneficiaries, merchandise, bike valet service, posters and materials, maps, maybe even a bike fix service for members old and new…

Bring along your ideas and enthusiasm, and we will make it our best Street Party yet!
